- Why can’t I find my battery in the list?
- Homologation covers the unit that operates on the grid — the inverter. A DC-coupled battery sits behind the hybrid inverter and therefore has no entry of its own. Check the inverter; AC-coupled batteries with their own grid connection do appear under their own model name.
- Why does the firmware version matter?
- Homologation applies per firmware version. A storage system running firmware other than the listed one counts as not homologated at registration – even if the model itself is on the list.
- Does a plug-in battery need a listing too?
- Yes. Plug-and-play balcony batteries up to 800 W – such as Marstek or Zendure – must be homologated as well, usually with the limitation “only in the module < 800 W”. A device sold in Germany or the Netherlands is not automatically allowed in Belgium.
- Do I have to register the home battery with the grid operator?
- Yes. Every generation and storage unit is registered with the distribution grid operator (e.g. Fluvius, ORES, Sibelga); homologation of the inverter is the precondition.
